Talking Europe at the time of Brexit [ang.]

For at least several years, Brexit has occupied a significant part of the time ofvpolitical decision-makers. It was also a source of concern for many citizens. This is why those who in some way took part in it are witnesses to history and should tell the story, document it, or describe it from their vantage point. And this is why this book came into being.

It contains esseys based on my public appearances during the period 2016-2020, which touched on issues connected with Brexit,

either directly or indirectly. These speeches were given in response torequest from individuals and those representing very different stakeholder groups affected by Brexit, who wanted to talk to me about their concerns and expected me to listen to them, to understand their fears, and to explain this constantstate of uncertainty.

I held almost five hundred of such meetings. It is undoubtedly a documentary type of work. At the same time, however, it is a personal record of how I perceived the essence of Brexit and its dimensions: global, individual, economic, political, and institutional, as well as its consequences for the future of Europe and the world.

I belive that looking at Brexit through personally verbalised documentation will have acertain value for political scientists and future historians of Brexit
